As Woodworking mechanic specializing in the planing industry you will ensure that something new is created from the natural and living raw material wood. The wood you process is used, for example, as a building material, for houses, interior fittings or in the furniture industry.

• Working in the sawmill is teamwork. You don't just work here, you can also make friends here. - Working with wood also means working with other materials, state-of-the-art machines and technologies. As a woodworking mechanic specializing in the planing industry, you will sharpen or maintain planing knives, for example.
• Planing produces tongue and groove boards (= profiled timber), skirting boards, handrails for banisters and much more.
• Modern sawmill systems need to be maintained and serviced. This also falls within the remit of the woodworking mechanic.
